Fundraiser FAQ
How do I apply?
A: Applications can be found HERE.
What organizations qualify to hold a fundraiser?
A: Any non-profit organization is eligible to participate in our fundraiser program. The government recognizes 501(c)3 organizations as tax-exempt under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. You can confirm your organization’s status on the IRS website.
Here are a few examples of organizations that have participated: Schools, School Bands, Sports Teams, Booster Clubs, Boy/Girl Scouts, Camps, Cheerleading Squads, Religious Organizations, Little League Teams, Parent Teacher Organizations, Charitable Organizations, Sororities/Fraternities, Student Councils, Teams in Training and more!
What is a federal tax ID number?
A: A federal tax ID number (also known as a TIN/EIN) is a nine-digit number assigned to an organization after registering themselves with the IRS. This number will always be nine digits (no letters or special characters) and is typically formatted like so: 12-3456789.
I don't have a federal tax ID number, can I still host a fundraiser?
A: We appreciate your interest, but unfortunately, we may only partner with organizations that are registered with the IRS and can submit tax information for verification.
How does my organization earn money?
A: 20% of all ticket sales during your fundraiser will be donated directly to your organization. Drink, merchandise, food, and gift card sales are not included. Your fundraiser attendees are responsible for telling staff they are supporting your organization prior to the start of their session. Our Team is not required to ask attendees if they are part of the fundraiser.
When will my organization receive the donation?
A: A check will be issued to your organization within 1-2 weeks of your event. If it has been more than 2 weeks since your event, and you still have not received a check, please email CampLeader@SlashersOC.com.
How do we ensure all sales are attributed to our fundraiser?
A: For both advance reservations and walk-in bookings, your fundraiser attendees are responsible for telling staff they are supporting your organization prior to the start of their session. Our Team is not required to ask attendees if they are part of the fundraiser.
Online Bookings: Advance bookings are encouraged. Bookings for groups of 2-14 with a START TIME within the time period of the scheduled fundraiser will qualify. Private party bookings of 15 or more people are excluded.
Walk-ins: Walk-in bookings for groups of 2-14 with a START TIME within the time period of the scheduled fundraiser will qualify. Accommodating walk-ins is subject to availability.
How do I make my event a success?
A: After you’ve scheduled your Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales fundraiser, maximize your event’s exposure to ensure a big turnout and an even bigger donation:

What if I need to cancel my fundraiser?
A: If you need to cancel or reschedule your event email us at CampLeader@SlashersOC.com. Please email us at least 2 days in advance of the scheduled fundraiser. Advance bookings that have already been placed will need to call individually to cancel or reschedule their reservations. A 10% cancellation fee will apply to all canceled bookings.
What is the minimum age for participants?
A: All ages may enter, but only ages 13 and up are allowed to participate in Axe Throwing. Please be aware that ‘R’ rated horror films may be playing at the bar, and children under 13 may find the atmosphere too scary. Guests aged 13-17 are welcome to throw axes with a parent or guardian’s permission.
Do spectators need to buy a ticket?
A: Everyone entering, including spectators, is required to purchase a ticket. 20% of ticket sales will be donated to the organization, so encourage everyone to pay for a ticket and come!
When can we hold our event?
A: Fundraisers can be scheduled on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays only. Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales does not host fundraisers on Fridays, Saturdays, or major Holidays. All fundraiser applications must be submitted and approved at least 14 days in advance.
How much does axe throwing cost?
A: Prices are $40 per person for one hour and $70 per person for two hours.
Do you sell food and drinks?
